It is with mixed emotions that the SPSP Board of Directors announces the resignation of Executive Director Chad Rummel as he transitions to become the next Executive Director for the Council for Exceptional Children. Chad will stay on through the upcoming annual convention in New Orleans.
“Chad has seen SPSP through drastic growth in the last six years,” said Linda Skitka, SPSP President. “SPSP has grown its infrastructure, membership, and programs beyond what was even conceivable when we hired Chad six years ago. Although we are sad to see him go, we have confidence in the succession planning process we already had in place for such a time.”
The SPSP Board has appointed Brian Riddleberger as Interim Executive Director. Brian currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and has overseen membership, operations, and business development for SPSP over the last six years.
“Brian is a perfect person to step in at this time and will do a fantastic job,” Rummel said. “The passion that Brian and the rest of the staff have for SPSP will continue to serve the membership well.”
A Transition Committee (chaired by president-elect Monica Biernat) has been appointed and is already engaged in facilitating the search process for Chad’s successor.
